“Death, Taxes and Chocolate” won two awards at the Los Angeles Film Festival.

 

The Eastern North Carolina Film Commission is extremely pleased to announce that “Death, Taxes and Chocolate” has won Best Original Screenplay and Best Comedy Feature at the Los Angeles Film Festival 2008! 
And, in the bargain, North Carolina’s Catherine Trail won the Best Supporting Actress award! 
 
The ENC Film Commission is proud to have been instrumental in bringing this project to the screen. 
“When screenwriter/producer Dr. Andrea Levinson Stern brought the screenplay to ‘Death, Taxes and Chocolate’ to the ENC Film Commission, we knew that this was something special,” said director Frank Dooley.  “We’re ecstatic to have been involved in the project from its inception.” 
“Death, Taxes and Chocolate” was written, produced and filmed entirely in Eastern North Carolina.
“The success of ‘Death, Taxes and Chocolate’ proves once and for all that Eastern North Carolina is emerging as one of the best places to film in the United States,” said film commission co-director Phillip Horne.  “What an extraordinary calling card this film is for the region, and for indigenous entertainment production here.”
