Best Film Feature from 2010 Grand Rapids Film Festival based on book by Charlotte author

DAVIDSON--"The Trial," a film based on Charlotte author Robert Whitlow's book of the same name, will debut exclusively at Our Town Cinemas in Davidson September 10-16.

"The Trial" is a PG-13 rated courtroom drama about a small town attorney who is contemplating suicide after the horrific death of his wife and two sons until he's assigned a capital punishment case that begins to transform his life and those around him forever.

The movie is produced and directed by Charlotte filmmaker Gary Wheeler and stars Matthew Modine, Bob Gunton (the warden in "Shawshank Redemption") and Academy Award-nominee Robert Forster.  It was filmed filmed in the Charlotte area and won Best Feature Film at the 2010 Grand Rapids Film Festival.
