Casting Call For Extras for Charlotte Pilot

Dec 8, 2010

Showtime's Homeland looking for all types and ages this Friday

CHARLOTTE--A casting call for extras has been set for this Friday, December 10, from 4-7 p.m. as part of the upcoming Showtime series pilot Homeland.

Interested individuals must attend the casting call, held at Plaza Fiesta Carolina located at 3700 Avenue of the Carolinas, off exit 90 (Carowinds exit) on Interstate 77 at the North Carolina/South Carolina border.  A non-returnable current snapshot of the potential extra must be brought to the casting call.

All types and ages are needed to work as background for the pilot.  In addition, there is also a special need for Military and Government types, a few College aged experienced in sign language and those of Middle Eastern descent.

As announced in November, the series will star Golden Globe-nominee Claire Danes (Romeo + Juliet, My So Called Life) and was created by Gideon Raff, who based the show on his Isreali TV series Prisoners of War.  Howard Gordon (24 and The X-Files) is executive producer and co-writer and is joined by Alex Gansa.  Michael Cuesta (Dexter) will be directing.

Homeland follows U.S. Marine Sergeant Scott Brody, who 10 years earlier disappeared in Iraq, then resurfaced and has recently recovered from injuries suffered during a drone strike. Carrie Anderson (Danes), an intelligent, driven CIA officer, gets a tip that Body, who is being feted as a returning war hero, actually has switched sides and will direct an imminent attack against the U.S. on American soil. The series has twists as Anderson works to build her case against Brody and learn the truth.
